Emotional Intelligence

Workshop Overview:

Emotional literacy is the language of emotions. Emotions are encoded with valuable informational signals about what's important and what we must pay attention to. Emotions are messages from us to us. Eight primary emotions are linked to survival, but hundreds of feeling states exist. When our emotions are intense, we naturally focus on the loudest one. However, one aspect of emotional intelligence is identifying more than one emotion at a time. By increasing emotional literacy, one can:

Objectives:

·       Improve decision-making processes

·       Build the bridge between cognitive areas of the brain and the affective domain (felt experience).

·       Develop an emotional vocabulary that increases emotional fluency and agility.
